A threatened theatre company in Newcastle has been saved thanks to a crowdfunding campaign which has raised more than double its original target.
Alphabetti Theatre, which produces its own work as well as staging other artists at its 50-seat venue in the city centre, was facing closure due to financial difficulties.

Crowdfunding4Culture, the EU funded study whose aim is the identification and analysis of best practices in Europe's crowdfunding market in relation to cultural organisations and creative professionals, has launched four surveys in order to gain in depth insights on motivation and barriers of using crowdfunding for the cultural and creative sectors in Europe.
